WISCONSIN BUSINESS HALL OF FAME Induction Ceremony to be Held at the Pfister Hotel, Wednesday, March 31, 2004
Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) January 29, 2004 --Since 1990, the Junior Achievement Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame has honored the states most distinguished businessmen and women for their outstanding contributions to free enterprise and the promise of a better, stronger society. For 2004, four business leaders will be welcomed as laureates into the Junior Achievement Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame in an induction ceremony to be held Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. The Journal Sentinel is the title sponsor of the event.
The Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame laureates for 2004 are: Michael J. Cudahy, Founder, Chairman, & CEO Marquette Medical Systems; Samuel C. Johnson, Chairman S.C. Johnson – A Family Company, Cray Research, Inc., Henry H. Kimberly, Jr., President, the Morgan Company, and John C. Koss, Founder, Chairman & CEO, The Koss Corporation
These four honorees join a distinguished group of 63 men and women who have been inducted
into the Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame since its founding in 1990. A committee comprised of past laureates and academics from Universities throughout the state of Wisconsin selected laureates. Past inductees include James H. Keyes, past Chairman of Johnson Controls, Inc., Seymour R. Cray, Founder, Cray Research, Inc., Martin F. Stein, Founder of Stein Drugs and Stein Optical and William A. Siekman, retired Chairman of Appleton Papers, Inc.
Junior Achievement makes a difference for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade by helping them to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to create opportunities and realize bright future goals. National studies confirm that Junior Achievement succeeds in affecting students lives, helps them to make better life choices and gain a greater comprehension of economic principals. The purpose of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Inc. is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, understand business and economics and be better prepared for the workforce. About JA in Racine County
Locally, the Racine Junior Achievement of Wisconsin district serves 6,000 – 8, 000 students in public, private and parochial schools. Junior Achievement volunteers are community members from all backgrounds including executives, parents, college students, scientists, administrative staff, for example. JA is continually seeking out and training new volunteers. Volunteers are then partnered with a class, and given a kit of pre-planned lessons and activities that make it fun for the students to learn, and easy for the volunteers to present.
