US Coast Guard Appoints SeaSecures Kim Petersen to Southern Florida Area Maritime Security Committee
The Department of Homeland Security and the US Coast Guard have announced the appointment of Kim E. Petersen to the Area Maritime Security Committee for Southern Florida. Petersen is the President of SeaSecure LLC, a global leader in maritime security and counter-terrorism consulting.

Petersen to the Area Maritime Security Committee for Southern Florida. Petersen is the President of SeaSecure LLC, a global leader in maritime security and counter-terrorism consulting.

The Area Maritime Security Committee brings expert and experienced representatives from government and industry together to continually assess security risks to the regions ports and determine appropriate risk mitigation strategies. The Committee will also develop, revise, and implement an AMS Plan for the region, and serve as the mechanism by which security threats and changes in Maritime Security (MARSEC) Levels are communicated to port and ship stakeholders.

He also served at the US Senate and US Defense Department and is a former Captain in the Armys Special Forces. He has directed security for such companies as Princess Cruises and Renaissance Cruises. He attended Harvard Business School and Virginia Commonwealth University. Kim has frequently given expert testimony before Congress on maritime security and his writings have been published in several journals and books.
