Miss Long Beach and Miss Teen Long Beach Are Looking for a Few Good Women

The Miss Long Beach and Miss Teen Long Beach Pageants are looking for delegates to compete in the 2004 upcoming Pageants produced by the Long Beach Jaycees. Eligible delegates are young women between the ages of 18 and 25 (14 and 17 for the Teen Pageant) and live, work, or go to school in Long Beach.

(PRWEB) January 13, 2004 --Miss Long Beach, Miss Teen Long Beach, two Long Beach Princesses and two Teen Long Beach Princesses are chosen on the basis of a personal interview, evening gown competition, and swimwear competition. Titleholders receive a scholarship and various other prizes.

Each delegate attends a three-month weekly program that includes seminars on image, speaking and interviewing skills along with a pre-pageant social and several rehearsals. Titleholders and the court will represent the city for one year as goodwill ambassadors and official hostesses at many Long Beach events. In additional Miss Long Beach 2004 and Miss Teen Long Beach 2004 advance to participate in a California state pageant as representatives of Long Beach.

The 2004 pageants are being held on Saturday, March 28th at 6pm at the Center Theater, located at 300 Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA. This is a charitable event produced by the Long Beach Junior Chamber. A portion of the proceeds goes to a local charity chosen by the pageant committee.

Interested delegates are asked to attend one of two orientations. Orientations are Thursday, January 15th and Thursday, January 29th at 6:30pm at the AOTT sorority house on 3980 E. 8th Street. Please call 562-596-4898 for additional information or visit our website at www.lbjaycees.org.

The Long Beach Junior Chamber created the Miss Long Beach Pageant in 1950 at the request of the city of Long Beach. In 1994, the Miss Teen Long Beach component was added to the program. The Long Beach Jaycees are a social, community involved, leadership training organization for individuals ages 21-39.
