USA Watch Company Challenges Swiss Watchmakers

High end timepiece manufacturer now sells direct to consumers.

Tucson, Arizona (PRWEB) October 1, 2004 -- Anyone who has wished to own a fashionable Swiss made timepiece but was dissuaded due to the high cost, now has an option. The Radius Watch Company based in Tucson Arizona introduced a new method of selling watches that will bring Swiss watch style and quality to the American marketplace. Hal Robb the president of Radius commented, Swiss watches have always been considered the pinnacle in design and craftsmanship worldwide. However, because of high tariffs and the excessive cost of selling to retailers the cost to the consumer, is in many cases prohibitive."

Radius has pioneered a new method of manufacturing and selling high-end watches direct to consumers, avoiding not only high retail markup but also the high costs associated with selling to retailers. The cost of a nationwide sales force, advertising allowances, spiffs and commissions to retail sales associates, training seminars, placement fees, retailer charge backs, retailer markup and the cost of trade shows has been eliminated. The Radius Watch Company instead, is selling direct to the consumer. While some retailers maintain websites or offer limited toll free ordering, Radius is an actual manufacturer who has bypassed the conventional sales approach. This approach permits consumers to talk directly with manufactures. With the success of home shopping channels and other cable channels that provide important and timely information on home decorating or food preparation to consumers the ability to get accurate information on high end timepieces is best done by the manufacturer" according to Karen Parker product manager for Radius Watches." Eddie Skrowski an avid watch buyer agrees, I saw the Radius watch internet site and than noticed that Harvard, Yale and Dartmouth all had commissioned Radius to make their watches so I knew the watches had to be great, and they are."

The Radius Watch Company considers its method of selling direct to consumers the next wave in the watch business. We are saving our customers on nearly every watch we sell at least 80 percent on what an equivalent watch would cost at a jewelry store. Where else can you get mother of pearl dials, 35 jewel movements, crocodile bands, solid stainless steel construction or 18 karat gold 10 micron finishes for under $200.00?" Robb said.
