One Night Stand
One Night Stand is an african american book with a gay and down low theme. Join several interesting new characters as they experience a One Night Stand
(PRWEB) October 1, 2004 - Neesie, Dante, Jermaine and Kateri embark on an affair to remember. Enjoy these, and more, memorable characters as they prepare for an unforgettable One Night Stand.
Washington DC's gay community is getting ready for the biggest event of the summer, everyone who is anyone is going to be there. Kings, Queens and the in-betweens.
Neesie is a strong beautiful African American woman. She has the perfect job, the perfect life and the perfect man, or so she thought.
Dante, Neesie's gay brother was always looking for Mr. Right, but always waking up with Mr. Right now. Dante is the protagonist of One Night Stand, hes the guy that everyone wants to be; or wants to be with.
Jermaine is always looking to have fun at everyone else's expense. Hes the antagonist of the story, although hes not evil, he does have a mean streak.
Kateri, pregnant and recently widowed by the current war, just wanted to escape the pain of reality and have some fun by going out with her best friend before becoming a single mom.
This book promises to deliver as we take a vacation from reality and party ourselves into oblivion. Sometimes a One Night Stand is all we need to be rejuvenated and revived. Everyone wants to be happy, but not everyone knows how to get there.
I wrote this book because I wanted to depict the African American gay community in a more realistic vision than the ones I had been seeing on television and in other media. I wanted to show how, while we're trying to get acceptance from others, we don't truly accept ourselves. I wanted to entertain and delight, and being of a creative mind, I thought the best way to do that would be to put my imagination on paper. I hope that through One Night Stand people might get a different look into the lives and dreams of gay men and women of color.
