(PRWEB) October 1, 2004 -- What will visitors to Central Florida be 'chattering about this holiday season? The answer may be unexpected: ICE!

This frozen family experience is Orlandos most unusual -- and coolest -- holiday attraction, hand-carved from nearly TWO MILLION pounds of ice. ICE! is presented by Coca-Cola and Albertsons and is open daily Nov. 20, 2004 -- Jan. 2, 2005.

Inside, guests explore larger-than-life, three-dimensional hand-carved ice monuments and sculptures, including slippery ice slides, and holiday scenes.

Although average high temperatures in Orlando are in the 70s, visitors are given oversized winter coats to wear inside ICE!," a 9-degree winter wonderland.

The enormous structure used to house ICE!" -- dubbed The Florida Fridge" -- is cooled to an average 9 degrees. It is believed to be the first structure of its kind ever built in North America. Upon entering, visitors encounter fanciful holiday scenes, including Santas toyshop and a tranquil winter forest with a running waterfall. Many of the carvings and sculptures are more than 25 feet in length.

This year, ICE!" will feature several new or revised areas, including a whimsical castle scene. Inside the castle, three fantastic ice speed slides will beckon the young and young at heart. In response to guest feedback, some elements will return for an encore," including a breathtaking life-size nativity carved completely of crystal-clear ice.

You wont find anything else like this in the state of Florida" said John Caparella, general manager at Gaylord Palms. In more ways than one, ICE! is the coolest attraction in town."

ICE!" is the highlight of the resorts Christmas at The Palms" festivities, which features holiday entertainment and activities for the entire family.
