4th Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference

The 4th Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference is scheduled for October 22 & 23, 2004 in Jefferson, TX.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 8, 2004 -- The Texas Bigfoot Research Center announced today the finalized speaker lineup for the 4th Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference. The event has continued to grow in size from 150 attendees in 2001, 250 attendees in 2002 and over 300 in 2003. This years event is scheduled for October 22 & 23, 2004 in Jefferson, TX. We have outgrown the facility that was used in previous years. Last years event was standing room only. This year we have moved to the Jefferson High School, which has doubled our capacity.

The Conference will include guest speakers, evidence displays, video presentations and collectible Bigfoot books and artwork that will be auctioned off.

We have an impressive lineup of speakers scheduled for this years event. John Kirk III of Vancouver, British Columbia, president of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, will be speaking about the legitimate evidence of the existence of Sasquatch using criminal investigation methods.

BFRO Curators Alton Higgins and Sue Lindley will be on hand to discuss their research and findings. Alton will be discussing the circumstances surrounding apparent Sasquatch handprint finds from Oklahoma. Sue will be talking about her Sasquatch sightings in Washington, California, and Oregon. She will discuss Bigfoot behavior: juvenile, adolescent and adult, and logical reasons why they do what they do. Sasquatch intelligence and sense of humor, and her food and beer experiments.

M. K. Davis of Mississippi will show his latest research on the Patterson/Gimlin film. Nick Redfern, UK author and investigator of the strange and unusual will be on hand to discuss Bigfoot creatures in the UK.

Jimmy Chilcutt, latent fingerprint examiner for the Conroe, TX Police Department, will discuss his investigation of alleged Bigfoot footprint casts. He is highly regarded by agents of the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and state and local law enforcement agencies because of his innovative techniques and ability to find fingerprints where others fail. Chilcutt's quest to squeeze more information out of fingerprints led him to develop a rare expertise in nonhuman primate prints. He tried to use his special knowledge to debunk alleged evidence of Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch. But his examination of alleged Bigfoot footprint castings didn't lead to the conclusion he had expected. He now believes that -- while some of them are fakes -- some are the genuine prints of a reclusive animal that has yet to be documented and studied.

Rick Noll, the caretaker of the Skookum cast, will be discussing his research. Rick has been researching the Sasquatch phenomenon since 1969. He is an expert in aircraft metrology, working for major aerospace manufacturers. Over the last 30 years, Rick has worked with all of the major Sasquatch researchers and connected with many highly noted anthropologists such as Dr. George Schaller and Dr. Jane Goodall. Rick is known for not only his Sasquatch related knowledge, but also for his expertise in digital technology and related electronics. Rick spends most of his Sasquatch research time in the field monitoring several camera traps and track sites in hopes of getting a fresh lead on the creature.

His presentation, titled "Pacific Northwest Field Research Techniques", is going to be on his methods of conducting field research as well as video and photo analysis, call blasting, finding tracks and the latest on the hair pattern analysis on the Skookum cast. He will also discuss future expeditionary plans in the works, as well as a demonstration of his footprint casting techniques. Rick will discuss sound blasting, recording, track search methods, tracks and sign, field logs, browsing, food sources, casting, photography and an ideal expedition layout.

Chester Moore has been added to the lineup of speakers. Nick Redfern of the UK will be speaking about Bigfoot research in the UK.

The location of the Conference, in Jefferson, is nestled in the scenic Piney Woods of Northeast Texas. There is a history of reported Bigfoot sightings and activity in the area. Fouke, AR, the setting of the movie The Legend Of Boggy Creek", was based on actual events that took place there in the early 70s. This is only an hour away from Jefferson. Caddo Lake, the only natural lake in Texas, is only 15 minutes away. It was also the filming location for the 70s movie Creature From Black Lake".

The junior class of Jefferson High School will serve lunch as a fundraiser. They will also provide a concession stand during the event. All proceeds will benefit the students of the school.

General admission to the event is $10. There is a VIP package that includes a fundraiser dinner with the speakers, our group members and other Bigfoot researchers on Friday night, October 22. There will be a special presentation after the dinner Friday night. This will be a group discussion with all of the speakers on the legitimacy of the Patterson/Gimlin film, with audience participation. This also includes premium reserved seating at the Conference. This package is $40 if paid prior to the event and $50 at the door the night of the event.
