NYC indie power pop/rocker, JANA PERI (www.janaperi.com), has announced UK tour dates for this October, including an appearance at the International Pop Overthrow festival at the legendary Cavern Club (www.cavern-liverpool.co.uk). The singer/songwriter/guitarist will play solo shows in London, Liverpool and Manchester: the three cities that inspired her to write The La La Song." La La Tour 2004" is named for the song that PERI first penned in her Liverpool hotel room a few years ago. It was the opening track on her 1999 eponymous, self-produced, self-released debut EP. While in England this fall, PERI also plans to shoot a music video for the song with a pair of local filmmakers whom she met in Liverpool in 2001 while they were making a documentary about The Quarrymen - John Lennons original band before the Beatles.

PERI and her band are currently recording a new full-length CD with NYC producer Daniel Rey (Ramones, Misfits, Ronnie Spector), slated for release in early 2005. One new song, Go Ahead," on which Rey also plays some guitar, has already been released on International Pop Overthrow - Volume 7 by American power pop and melodic rock label, Not Lame. It is not the only compilation on which PERIs music can be found this year. This past spring, PERI was featured in ROCKRGRL Magazine because Dating Sucks," a song from her EP, was chosen by a panel of music industry judges to be the lead track on ROCKRGRLs Discoveries 2004.

PERI is very excited about returning to England: There is definitely some kind of transatlantic love affair going on between Americans and the English -- especially with musicians. We have a long history of copying each others music and fashion. Also, I think we are convinced that in order to make it, we must journey across the ocean and conquer our brother. The Beatles refused to play in the US until they had a number one record here. And for American musicians who were inspired by The Beatles, going to Liverpool is like making a pilgrimage to Mecca...or Macca, as the case may be."

In addition to the Cavern Club, PERI will also make appearances at Manchesters Night & Day (nominated for an award as Mancunian bar of the year) and at Londons infamous Hope & Anchor -- another venue with a rich music history. Since the 1970s when it was a punk rock hangout, the Islington pub has featured performances by many new artists who have gone on to superstardom such as The Police, Elvis Costello, U2, and The Cure.
