About Deirdre and Ray Baker
Originally from Australia, Deirdre Baker DFD&DP, a designer in the world of fashion and dance, and her husband Ray were dance champions for several years before re-locating to England to further their dance studies. Deirdre and Ray spent 20 years studying ballroom dancing and cabaret with the dance masters of England and Europe. To subsidize her dancing, Deirdre started her company Deirdre of London, designing and manufacturing gowns for some of the top dancers in the world. After retiring from dancing themselves in 1995, Ray and Deirdre re-located to the United States. Ray is a championship judge for competitions, Deirdre concentrates on working in her successful design business making dancewear designs for some of the top dancers in the United States, and they are now ballroom dancing coaches.
