founders of CRM Essentials LLC, received the “Most Influential CRM Leaders” award at the DCI Customer Relationship Management Conference & Exposition last night. The honor was awarded to them by CRM Magazine, the industry’s leading monthly magazine dedicated to helping companies achieve customer-focused organizations.

The Most Influential Leaders award identifies those who, by their words and actions, have had a significant impact either within their company or on the industry over the past year. Past winners of this prestigious award include Marc Benioff – Chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, James Goodnight – president and CEO of SAS Institute, David Thacher - general manager of CRM for Microsoft and Adam Klaber – global and Americas CRM leader for IBM Business Consulting Services.

While the industry’s focus has been on the SMB market, Leary and Thomas saw an opportunity in addressing a growing segment of that market - minority business enterprises. CRM Essentials is consulting with leading vendors in the CRM community to understand the size of the opportunity and to formulate successful strategies for targeting minority businesses. The name of this service is called CRM2 - Using community relationship management to increase awareness and adoption of customer relationship management in minority business enterprises.

“Leary and Thomas recognized that CRM vendors and consultants were missing the opportunity to educate minority businesses on the benefits of CRM,” says Ginger Conlon, editor-in-chief of CRM Magazine. “The partners began a mission to direct the attention of the CRM industry to this valuable business segment and have made significant inroads in doing so.”

“We value our relationships with our partners, like CRM Essentials, in helping to build awareness for our software with prospective customers in their communities,” said Dan English, General Manager, U.S. Microsoft Business Solutions. “We believe CRM is a solid investment for businesses that want to automate their strategy for building and maintaining profitable relationships with customers.”

“Don’t kid yourself,” said Paul Greenberg, author of the best selling “CRM at the Speed of Light’,” “Leary and Thomas are not only among the smartest in the business, they have a social conscience which, in the CRM world, means that they are both rare and also entirely positioned to increase their great success. They deserved this honor and more.”
