Quartz Hill, CA (PRWEB) October 2, 2004 -- SitePoint, a publisher of Web Development books, has annouunced the winner of its "Around the World" competition which had SitePoint book customers to submit photos of themselves with their favorite SitePoint book in exotic locales, with famous people or at local landmarks.
The top of Mt. Fuji, Acropolis, Equator, set of NBC News, and the Austrian Alps are just a few of the locations where SitePoint customers posed with their books. The winner received an Apple iPod.
"We were extremely pleased by the huge response this contest received and the amount of creativeness displayed by our customers with their submissions," said Matt Mickiewicz, Co-Founder of SitePoint.
Nearly 150 submissions were received from such diverse places as India, France, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Japan. In total, customers from 24 different countries submitted photos.
The winner, "Hawaiibuff," submitted a picture of herself holding a SitePoint Book while surfing in Hawaii.
Runner-ups included submissions with Elvis & Marilyn Monroe impersonators in Las Vegas, the Seattle Space Needle, the tallest buildings in the world in Kuala Lumpur, Microsoft Headquarters, and a giant cow in North Dakota.
