Tech Savvy Writer from North East Pennsylvania Starts Small with Big Ambitions of Media Success.
A small town writer was having trouble breaking into publishing. So he started a business to promote himself. Now he's growing to become a full-fledged small-press publisher.
Wilkes-Barre, PA (PRWEB) October 5, 2004 -- Its no surprise that its hard for new writers to get published. Bookstores are practically flooded with tomes on how to sell your idea. What about the writers who dont have time to network at conventions, spend months waiting for manuscripts to be reviewed, or just simply think there has to be a better way? After a year of research, planning, and hard work M. John Matirko, founder and proprietor of Velesquious Studios says, I think there is."
While working at a hardware store in Pocono Lake, PA Mr. Matirko started seeking representation for his first novel. When he grew weary of the process he registered a company name with the state and started www.velesquious.com to try online marketing. Now hes taking on work from other writers and artists as well hoping to turn his idea into a platform for new talent.
When I started the site it was just a place to put my stories so I could get some exposure," says John. Now Im reviewing other peoples manuscripts. Were going to try and put out four titles next year."
Velesquious Studios currently has two books available exclusively through their website and Mr. Matirko hopes to re-release one for distribution, as well as a comic book, in the next year along with books from other authors with whom he is working.
