Double Text was recently purchased by the HVAC team in the Facilities Department at the University of Idaho to improve PPCL programming efficiency. The HVAC team chose Double Text to help in their efforts to create a standardized code library. With standardized Double Text source files, the team is able to write complete, ready to compile PPCL programs in a few minutes instead of several hours or days.
The Double Text 2.2 enhancements include new features that make it possible to:
> Review and edit activation responses to ensure activation accuracy,
> Print source files from the Edit window, and
> Organize blocks into separate selection lists to make block selections intuitive.
Double Text simplifies work and saves time by making it very easy and convenient to create libraries of reusable text, quickly reuse the text whenever needed, and customize text 'on the fly' every time text is re-used. Using a Double Text source file is referred to as activating the file. The result of file activation is the placing of the text from the source file, including any changes made during the activation, onto the Windows® clipboard. After the activated text is placed on the clipboard, that text can be pasted into literally any other clipboard compatible program.
During file activation, Double Text analyzes the source file to find and process all embedded activation tags. By responding to the prompts displayed from the tags, the user can change the source text 'on the fly' every time the file is activated. The Double Text source file does not change while the version of the text created during each activation can be very different.
Reusable Double Text Source files can be text, code, or anything that a person finds themselves either re-typing often, copying and pasting frequently, or changing with 'find' and 'replace.' The following is a partial list of possible Double Text uses.
