Manila, Philippines (PRWEB) October 6, 2004 -
based software engineering services firm  announced that it has secured a major outsourcing contract with Horizons International, Inc., a US-based developer of manufacturing and accounting software applications. WEBWORKS OS will develop Horizons next generation manufacturing suite designed to run on the Microsoft .NET platform.
Founded in 1987, Horizons International, Inc. is involved in the creation and support of software solutions that enable expanded use of Microsoft Business Solutions back office applications. The company caters primarily to top U.S. enterprise manufacturers.
ÂThis year weÂve decided to introduce a new generation of manufacturing software written for the .NET platform. It will cater to the requirements of small- and medium-size manufacturing companies, said Elizabeth Wall, Horizons chief operating officer. ÂThis new solution will integrate easily with most accounting solutions typically used by SMEs, and will offer users more flexibility and greater functionality.Â
Horizons subcontracted the project to WEBWORKS OS, which specializes in .NET migration, as well as code maintenance, test engineering, and user documentation. ÂWith the Horizons development team continuously engaged in enhancing the companyÂs original product line, we needed a credible partner who could develop our next generation solution at the same professional level we do our work. We found a match in WEBWORKS OS, Ms. Wall explained.
WEBWORKS OS will initially develop the two primary modules of the manufacturing suite, Bill of Materials (BOM) and Production Entry (PE). BOM manages supply of items required to produce a finished assembly or sub-assembly. It integrates with the clientÂs existing inventory solution to ensure the raw materials needed to create a product are available. PE is where the work order for each product originates after components are specified in the BOM system.
The solution is slated for launch in the second quarter of 2005.
Earlier this year, WEBWORKS OS reported securing a major outsourcing contract from PayGlobal, a New Zealand-based software developer specializing in people management solutions. The company will develop the user interface of PayGlobalÂs latest HR application, Global Pay.
