Author Rainey Moon of Colonial Heights VA is helping to fight crime and illiteracy by selling books. Rainey will be one of many writers attending the Buy A Book, Stop A Crook - Book 'Em Event sponsored by The Waynesboro Police & The City of Waynesboro. The event is free to the public and will be held at the Waynesboro High School, October 23rd from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

This groundbreaking Book Fair highlights the connection between illiteracy and crime rates. Proceeds from the sales of her books; Timeless Souls; nominated for the 2005 IPPY Awards and her upcoming release Whispered Words, which will make its debut appearance at the event, will go to Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers, Friends of the Library from Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County, and the Shenandoah Valley Reading Council.

Rainey will be appearing for book signings along side authors from around the country and across the seas. She will also be participating in two panel discussions, which will feature information on "The Pathway To Publishing" and a discussion on "Characters That Scare Us Silly". There will be authors speaking throughout the day as well as children’s authors who will be doing readings.

When asked about her participation Rainey’s response was, “It’s a privilege to be able to share in the event with such talented authors – it’s a great cause, combined with a great opportunity to meet authors from around the globe – I can’t think of a more clever way to nab a crook”
