mobitus, a division of FatPort, is launching their latest Voice over IP offering with an all-new product lineup, including hardware that allows customers to transform their current phones into mobitus phones via an adapter. Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- mobitus, a division of FatPort, is launching their latest Voice over IP offering with an all-new product lineup, including hardware that allows customers to transform their current phones into mobitus phones via an adapter. As a bonus, when coupled with FatPorts Wi-Fi services, mobitus brings cheap, functional phone service to the traveling public using a new portable WiFi capable handset.

The plan lineup has also been improved. For the unconvinced, the free 'mobitus Casual plan does not include many of the benefits that make our other 2 plans truly useful: web based voicemail, call forwarding to a mobile phone, virtual local numbers, and included North American long distance minutes. Priced at $20USD and $30USD per month respectively, the 'mobitus Basic and 'mobitus Advanced products round out our product offering.

As well as the included software phone, mobitus will sell additional hardware including a Wi-Fi cordless phone and a regular telephone converter that plugs into any current analog telephone. These products put a familiar face on VoIP, necessary for widespread adoption.

mobitus is committed to developing the portable VoIP market by offering new plans and products designed with the road warrior in mind," states Michael Kuhlmann, VP of Business Development. We have put together a service that allows our customers to use VoIP technology when they are on the go, and we have added new flexibility for the business customer to always be in touch with a variety of phone numbers, including Toll Free numbers."

A key differentiator is mobitus link with parent company FatPort. With one of the biggest expenses when traveling being long distance and roaming charges, mobitus works with FatPorts wireless Internet network located in many hotels and cafés across Canada. The WiFi phone in particular will instantly associate to a FatPort hotspot making voice communication over the mobitus network very easy.
