Amherst & Williamsville New York Rotary Clubs Donate $9,000 to Local Boys & Girls Club for a New Van

A Rotary Classic Car Show program held in August 2004 raised money for the Amherst Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, New York, and the Amherst Youth Foundation. The four area clubs are the Rotary Club of Amherst East, Rotary Club of Amherst North, Rotary Club of Amherst South, and Rotary Club of Williamsville.

(PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- On Wednesday, October 13, the four Amherst Area Rotary clubs, Amherst East, Amherst North, Amherst South, and Williamsville Rotary clubs will donate $9,000 to the Amherst Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo. The money will help purchase a van to transport the children who patronize the Amherst Clubhouse.

The four area Rotary clubs raised the money at their first annual Classic Car Show at the Amherst Pepsi Center on August 1. Business sponsors who supported the Car Show fund raising event included the Buffalo Sabres, Ahrens Printing, Amherst Chevrolet, Amica Insurance, Zaepfel Development Co., PepsiCo Inc., the Amherst Pepsi Center, Minuteman Press, and marketing consulting firm eXubrio, LLC.

Rotary International celebrates its 100th anniversary in its July 2004 through June 2005 fiscal year. The Classic Car Show fund raising event represented the Centennial Project for the four participating Rotary clubs. In addition to supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, the event supported the Amherst Youth Foundation.
With support from area businesses and the local community, we had a tremendous first-year success," said Richard A. Wojtowicz, car show expert, and member of the Rotary Classic Car Show committee. We served 1,000 Krolicks chicken dinners, had one hundred and fifty classic cars, and plenty of activities for kids."

Rotary Club members Howard Lukas and Julie Drake will present the $9,000 check at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 13, at the Amherst Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, in Amherst. Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo Board of Directors president, Cindy Munschauer, will receive the check for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo. Many of children who belong to the club will be on hand to celebrate this event.
