Dittmar Associates (http://www.dittmar-associates.com) is pleased to announce that the company has been certified as a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE). National certification was granted by the Houston Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA) which uses rigorous standards and procedures as defined by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) in order to certify companies as WBEs. Corporations depend upon certification when making decisions about hiring small companies. Since only companies that meet national standards can be certified, the process helps large firms with quality assurance. In order to meet the national criteria, a company must be at least 51% woman-owned, must operate independently, and must demonstrate a strong track record in experience, technical capabilities, and business competence.

“Certification as a WBE marks a milestone for us at Dittmar Associates,” said Dr. Mary Lynne Dittmar, Owner and Senior Consultant for the company. “We take the decision of the Houston WBEA and the WBENC as a vote of confidence in our abilities and as a strong predictor of continuing success.”

Dittmar Associates specializes in providing business development expertise to small businesses and has helped client companies position themselves for the successful acquisition of government contracts. Certification as a WBE is recommended by the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) as part of the process for determining the eligibility of WBEs for local, state, and federal contracts. In general, if a business is interested in such work, Dittmar recommends they invest the resources necessary to pursue certification with organizations such as the SBA or WBENC. Sometimes, though, a business may balk at what can be a lengthy process. "When that happens, it is particularly important that we, as consultants, practice what we preach," she continued. "Small businesses need to aggressively pursue every path available to them to achieve and maintain a strong competitive advantage. Making the effort to become certified demonstrates to our clients that we take our own advice seriously."

In addition to strategic planning and business consulting, Dittmar Associates employs an innovative technical team focused on excellence in systems and human factors engineering, operations, and training. The team focuses primarily on Space and Defense applications but also has relationships with companies in commercial sectors dealing with advanced technology. At present, Dittmar Associates is developing projects in areas such as Network Centric Operations (NCO), distributed intelligent systems, and immersive visualization. The firm also provides business and management consulting services to the Federal government and to government contractors.

Dittmar Associates is operates as a small WBE with offices located in Seabrook (Houston), Texas.
