COMEDYCENTRAL.COM and interFUEL Team Up to Develop Three Election-Themed Games for Indecision 2004

COMEDY CENTRAL® tapped Ventura, California design firm, interFUEL, to create three online games to complement “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’s” Indecision 2004.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 8, 2004

COMEDY CENTRAL tapped Ventura, California design firm, interFUEL, to create three online games to complement “The Daily Show’s” Indecision 2004. The games are now all launched and in the Top Five games on http://www.comedycentral.com.

interFUEL’s outstanding creative reputation and amazing turnaround time for online game development were huge draws for COMEDY CENTRAL. This turnaround far exceeds the industry standard of eight to ten weeks.

COMEDY CENTRAL Producer Vincenza Pizzo and Digital Media Creative Director Paul Beddoes-Stephens, who had recently engaged interFUEL to develop games for “Reno 911!” (the popular “Petty Theft Bicycle”) and “The Graham Norton Effect “(“Graham a Go Go” and “Graham-o-Gram”), requested that interFUEL propose games that would complement “The Daily Show’s” Indecision 2004 campaign coverage.

Working with Beddoes-Stephens and Pizzo, interFUEL created and developed 3 games: “Kerry-Man,” “Karl Rove’s White House Whack ‘Em,” and “Electoral Showdown.” In “Kerry-Man,” based on a certain familiar arcade game from the eighties, you help Kerry avoid his political ghosts and adversaries (Dopey, Mopey, Popey, and Hopey) as he makes his way to the White House. Or you can step into Karl Rove’s golf shoes as he protects the White House lawn from dangerous political moles in “Karl Rove’s White House Whack ‘Em.” And for a real challenge, you can try to get the whole country to vote red or blue in the devilish puzzle game “Electoral Showdown.”

Vincenza Pizzo noted “The Indecision 2004 games were a great collaborative effort between Comedy Central and InterFUEL. They really understood our gaming needs and our incredible urge to hit people over the head with golf clubs” while Paul Beddoe-Stephens added ”InterFUEL provided solid game engines along with the creative flexibility and patience that allowed us to lovingly burnish each game to a Comedy Central shine. They are now, rather unfortunately, also #3 on Karl Rove’s ‘Game Developers I Must Destroy’ List.”

“With the political climate being what it is, these game ideas almost write themselves,” said David Holifield, Managing Partner, interFUEL. “We’re proud to work with COMEDY CENTRAL in their pursuit to hold the proverbial mirror up to the faces of these great leaders of ours.”
