Highly Acclaimed National Muslim Comedy Tour" To Perform At The San Jose Improv

National Muslim Comedy Tour to make a one-night stop in San Jose, California

(PRWEB) October 8, 2004 -- Allah Made Me Funny -- The Official Muslim Comedy Tour", which is currently embarked on a 30-city national tour, will perform at the San Jose Improv on October 13, announced Preacher Moss, the tours executive producer and headline act.

Allah Made Me Funny", designed to provoke social assessment and address negative post 9/11 preconceptions towards Muslims through the vehicle of comedy, is receiving critical acclaim from multi-cultural audiences nationwide as well as numerous Muslim organizations and international print and broadcast media outlets.

The tour is the brainchild of Preacher Moss, whos comedic resume includes comedy writing for actor/comedian George Lopez, Saturday Night Lives Darryl Hammond and Damon Wayans. Moss also created the one-man progressive college comedy/lecture tour called End Of Racism".

Allah Made Me Funny -- The Official Muslim Comedy Tour" line-up of comics includes Chicago-native Azhar Usman (nicknamed the Ayatollah of Comedy) who is an attorney-turned comedian, lecturer, and community activist. Also on the tours ticket is Azeem, a nationally recognized stand-up comic, activist and founder of Azeems Kids Foundation, a South Carolina-based charity dedicated to helping children who are in foster
and juvenile care.

Since launching Allah Made Me Funny -- The Official Muslim Comedy Tour in June 2004, the tour has received national and international media attention from such high profile media outlets as The Chicago Sun Times, CBC, BBC, UPI, ABCs Nightline With Ted Koppel and The Washington Post.

Additionally, the tour is receiving critical acclaim and support from national Muslim organizations including CAIR (Counsel of American Islamic Relations) and the Islamic Foundation of America.

The Muslim population has not traditionally been associated with humour which is part of the reason the tour is garnering so much attention," said Preacher Moss We try to use comedy as a tool to disarm people and change negative perceptions about Muslims. Once people start laughing, they tend to let go of their anxieties," said Moss.

The socially conscious comedians material is centered on religious and cultural differences as well as similarities and stereotypes between Muslims and non-Muslims.

The tour has successfully opened to sell-out audiences in Toronto, Washington D.C., Columbia, SC, Raleigh, NC., and Chicago, IL.

Allah Made Me Funny -- The Official Muslim Comedy Tour" is scheduled to perform at 8:00 p.m. on October 13. The San Jose Improv is located at 62 S. Second St. in San Jose, CA.

Tickets are available online at sanjoseimprov.com or by calling 408-280-7475.
