Local Politicians Gain Victory Over Porn Store

Fontana, CA -- Inland Empire homebuilder Young Homes recently announced it would be demolishing Jackman Adult bookstore and adjacent buildings located on historic Route 66 (Foothill Blvd.) in unincorporated San Bernardino County between Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga.

Fontana, CA (PRWEB) October 9, 2004 -- The move drew praise from local officials who have been working to clean-up the area.

This property has been an eyesore for years. It has been used for prostitution and is a haven for drugs and crimes. Lets tear it down and build something that adds value to our community," said Councilwoman Acquanetta Warren

Young Homes spokesperson Charles Rangel says This business and related clientele have been so much of a problem to the City of Fontana, the local residents and the overall community for so long, everyone is happy to see it go." Rangel adds We expect the drug use and crime will disappear along with the buildings."

County officials are also happy to see the building go. County Supervisor Paul Biane explains Because of the nature of the business and the kind of people it attracts, we wanted to work with Young Homes because we felt that anything new in the area would be a major improvement."

This City Council has worked hard to create better, safer neighborhoods where people want to raise their families," said City Councilwoman Janice Rutherford. we support efforts to cleanup areas like this -- it is a big step in the race to improve this neighborhood."

We have always enjoyed a good working relationship with Young Homes and are happy to facilitate this demolition" added Biane.

The event is slated for October 13, 2004. The Fontana City Council, County Board of Supervisors and Fontana Police Department will be on hand to help with the demolition.
