Authors Note:
Recently a reviewer asked what I thought the future holds for my writing. Would I continue in fantasy or would I branch out? I always envisioned fantasy being like the Lord of the Rings. My novel doesnt contain any imaginary creatures. The fact of the matter is that the only thing that puts my novel in fantasy is that it is written in a non-existent time.
Back to the question. I think that I am just a writer at heart and have no intentions of narrowing the writing options available. However, if I had to say where my interests are, it would have to be in general fiction. I am a storyteller and I cant dictate what will come to mind when I write; only what I chose to write down. My taste in reading varies as much as my interest in topics to write about.
A synopsis of Tipple's Eve:
In a famine-stricken world, the people of Tipple's Eve live under the tyranny of Kon Longstorm, a man who controls not only all the food in the Valley, but the very lives of the people. Kon also dominates the Monachi, a people he has imprisoned inside the caverns of Mount Tipple Rod. After Troy Warfork's closest friend accidentally drowns in Blue Diamond Lake, Troy dives into a massive whirlpool to kill himself. But instead of dying, Troy discovers an escape route from the Valley and from Kon's control. Troy goes to the Monachi and asks them to join him, hoping that together they can convince the people of Tipple's Eve to leave the Valley for ever.
...And that's when the adventure of a lifetime begins.

Reviews of Tipple's Eve:
T.A. Von Reiman Reviews Tipples Eve By Gaylen M.H. Sharp
Tipples Eve is a brilliantly created fantasy novel that is filled with vivid details and a smooth flow that I can only envy. From the very first pages I felt more like a visitor to Tipples Eve than a reader and I delighted in the journey I saw unfolding.
Troy, the main character, came to life before my very eyes and I was immediately thrilled by his victories and feared for his losses. Troy has the courage of a lion and a heart filled with love for his family and friends. Halli, is a very spirited girl who has known the tragedy of loss and soon finds that the puppy love that she and Troy have experienced their whole lives has turned into something more.
This young couple suddenly must leave the comfort of the only home they have ever known and leave behind them their treasured family. They embark into a new life with a determination to fulfill their dreams. Their journey leads them into a strange world of joy, fear and terror as they become even more desperate to free themselves from the chains that bind them and to free their people as well. Troy and Halli are joined by a unique line of supporting characters such as; Grandpa Lyle, who knows more about the history of Tipples Eve than anyone else in town; the couples friend Perri, who they love and trust like a brother. Each character quickly displays their own personality and they become real people living real lives.
When I began to read this book I was torn between wanting to read rapidly and find out what would happen next, and savoring the exquisite taste of an excellent novel. Finally I set a pace somewhere in between and allowed myself to glide along absorbing each tantalizing detail of this wonderful tale.
To say that Gaylen is a talented artist is an understatement, this author possesses a gift few have seen and even fewer have acquired. Bravo, Mr. Sharp, Bravo! I only wish you could have heard my applause when I finished reading your work of art. I enthusiastically recommend that everyone purchase and read this rare diamond of a novel and thrust themselves into a tale that is without compare.

As readers, we sometimes find ourselves present for the miracle to be found in the birth of an author, the emergence of a talent. To be in the face of such a discovery is a humbling experience, and one these readers gladly accepted during the reading of Gaylen Sharps debut novel, "Tipples Eve."
Mr. Sharps narrative greatly displays the level of trust he has in his readers. He has elaborately woven a world we cannot help but be drawn into, exposing its secrets and weaknesses. In doing so, he has not only endeared us to those of his creation, but to himself, as the creator.
Gaylen Sharp possesses a vast potential in the telling of a powerful story, and in "Tipples Eve" this strength successfully overtakes his young development of style. He displays masterful cohesion between reality and resolution, placing a soft spin on our own every-day trials and tribulations and a strong focus on the message of solidarity. His story and his world will captivate readers of varied genres and affection for fantasy.
The accomplishment of "Tipples Eve" by this young man is to be admired. This accomplishment for this young man leaves these reviewers anxiously anticipating his next installment.
