winning utility, WindowShade for Microsoft Windows, and a brand new shell enhancement utility, XSwitch. The new version of WindowShade (1.2) features an improved user interface and a handful of bug fixes and optimizations, as well as a new feature to make the window stay on top.

About WindowShade

WindowShade is a flagship product of Edge Beyond. It comes as a free 15-day trial with no features removed. Full version costs US $15 with select free upgrades. WindowShade lets you hide the windows that are obscuring your view temporarily, while also being completely hassle-free and unobtrusive for your eye. Just by double-clicking the window titlebar, or pressing the Shift or Control key twice, the window will roll into a window title bar, letting you see and interact with the windows located below the current window. WindowShade is ideal for quickly glancing at interaction below the current window or to get the top window out of the way without losing control of it.

Another feature WindowShade offers is the Make Window Transparent function. By activating it, the window will become partially transparent, allowing you to see through it while keeping the complete control over its controls and buttons. The Float on Top feature of WindowShade allows you to make the window “float” on top of all others; if you're watching a movie, or have an important chat window open that you don't want to obscure, this feature allows you to do so unobtrusively.

And there is one more quite useful feature that WindowShade provides – the Minimize to the Task Bar function. Normally, to close a window to the task bar, you must use the minimize button in the right upper corner of the screen. WindowShade allows you an option to assign this action to a handy keyboard combination, or a mouse click combination.
