Quinnipiac University Deploys Roaring Penguin Software’s CanIt-PRO Anti-Spam Solution

CanIt Appliance protects Exchange servers, network and users from spam and viruses.

Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, has responded to its e-mail users’ call for relief from spam while also protecting its systems from viruses, with Roaring Penguin Software’s CanIt Appliance. CanIt-PRO is stopping spam and viruses before they reach Quinnipiac’s Exchange mail servers or client machines.

The university deployed CanIt-PRO in a default opt-out state and introduced it to various groups of users over time. Faculty receiving as many as 100 spam messages a week were some of the first to be invited to opt-in to protection from CanIt-PRO. Quinnipiac’s IT team is also using the Clam AntiVirus software that is bundled with CanIt-PRO, and has configured the solution to scan for viruses and particular mail attachments before filtering for spam.
