Using its MediaXtasy visual performance software, New York-based MX Works provided real-time video projections for hip-hop artists Fat Joe (Universal), Jadakiss (Ruff Riders) and Carl Thomas (Bad Boy), as they entered into the final leg of the Bud Light-sponsored 20-city tour. The appearances in Nashville, Washington DC, Los Angeles and Oakland precede the tourÂs upcoming finale at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 23rd. Previous dates featured Ludacris (Def Jam), Jagged Edge (Sony), Sean Paul (Atlantic) and Mario Winans (Bad Boy). The tour, organized by the Run Group for Bud Light, teams hip-hop stars with DJs and visual artists in a club setting.
MX Works' Me-Js (media jockeys) "remixed" music video clips of each artist on the fly, integrated with a customized music-visual palette featuring motion graphic treatments of brand-related images supporting the Bud Light Lounge concept. The visuals accompanied DJ sets and the artists performances. MediaXtasy enables the Me-J to trigger and manipulate video clips live, in rhythm to the music, and control different images on multiple screens simultaneously. The Me-J can control the edits, speed, direction and screen configuration of the clips in real time.
ÂItÂs been a privilege to work with Bud Light for a second straight year, and to be a part of a groundbreaking creative process in the hip-hop worldÂ, said MX Works CEO and co-founder, Marc Benjamin. ÂItÂs a thrill see great music videos reinvented as part of live, multimedia performances that are never the same twice.Â
MediaXtasy has been showcased in tours and special events headlined and hosted by major recording artists, DJs and celebrities, including Beyonce, Nelly, NÂSync, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Danny Tenaglia, Louie Devito, Pete Tong, Dirty Vegas and Crystal Method. MX Works has been sponsored by numerous consumer brands and media companies, for which the company artfully incorporates logo and product animations and remixed commercials, videos and trailers into its visual performance.
For artists and musicians, MediaXtasy brings a new dimension to live performance. Created by chart-topping Billboard producer/remixer Valentin (Britney Spears, Deborah Cox, Christina Aguilera), the software enables real-time visual interpretations of live music from source material ranging from music videos to b-roll footage to high-tech motion graphics. MX performances can be created using a combination of content from its vast database of visual media, augmented with exclusive Âpalettes of content created for or provided by the client. Whether using existing or customized content, MediaXtasy enables unprecedented visual creations that are never the same twice.
For advertisers and event sponsors, MX Works adds a powerful new medium for communication. Animations and motion clips created from still images of logos or product images, plus clips from promotional or commercial footage can be built into branded content palettes. As a result, marketing messages are seamlessly woven into the music visual experience. The message is unmistakable, yet it is not perceived as Âadvertising."
