OpenCAD has just announced a 50% reduction in the price of its training site subscriptions.
Designers who subscribe to the training site before November 30 will pay just $50.00 for a full year of access to the more than nine hunded tutorials currently on the site, and the new tutorials posted every month. After November 30, a subscription will cost $75.00 per year.
Nancy Fulton, President of OpenCAD International Inc., says "When we first launched the Complete Support Training Sites in 1996, we delivered training for AutoCAD 14 and 3DS MAX 2 for $50/year. We subsequently discovered that most users had slow internet connections and began providing training CDs with each subscription for $100-$120 per year. Our system logs now tell us 80% of our users come into our site at DSL or faster speeds, which means our original pricing strategy makes more sense. Customers can still purchase training CDs if they want them, but they no longer come with every subscription."
OpenCAD CEO Mark Mazur adds, "Paid subscribers can access our training site from any computer on the Internet, and our Add Note feature lets users add their own annotations to our tutorials. Our Print feature loads all the pages of a tutorial into one long page for those who want to print tutorials for personal reference. We will still create training CDs from our content on a periodic basis, but we won't include a set with every subscription. The amount we save on CD duplication and shipping is being passed on to our customers in our price reduction."
