MALLFORMS Introduces Shopping Center Revenue Generation Programs

MALLFORMS has developed revenue generation programs for regional enclosed shopping centers. Malls are seeking ways to develop additional revenue streams in common areas, third party advertising, and in areas that were once expense centers.

MALLFORMS (http://www.mallforms.com), Announced today that it is rolling out new revenue producing programs for regional enclosed shopping centers worldwide.

When tenants remodel, move, or vacate a space within a mall, most malls construct barricades typically made of drywall. Drywall barricades are used only once and require construction that subsequently leads to dust, painting, and disruption to shoppers.

Uncertainties within the retail industry are one of the driving forces behind malls to create better shopping experiences and explore additional revenue streams. “Retail consulting firm Davidowitz & Associates expects a 3 to 4 percent increase in holiday sales. At the other end of the spectrum, Columbus, Ohio-based Retail Forward, is optimistic, predicting this holiday season could be the best since 1999, with 6 percent to 6.5 percent sales growth,” according to an article in Retail Traffic Magazine – September 30, 2004.

Further demonstrating the uncertainties, SCT Newswire (Compiled by the staff of Shopping Centers Today. - International Council of Shopping Centers) reported that Mall net-asset values have risen at a handsome rate, said Mike Kirby, a principal and co-founder of research firm Green Street Advisors, Newport Beach, Calif. But the same factors that are boosting business now could also be creating a bubble waiting to burst. “We are now in a recovery that looks fine on paper, but it depends on who you're talking to,” Kirby said.

“Since the MALLFORMS barricade system is totally reusable for several years, shopping centers can generate thousands of dollars in revenue by purchasing the MALLFORMS barricades and deploying them for tenants for a fee per linear foot,” says Franklin Frith, Business Development representative for MALLFORMS.

Magda Ohanlon, Vice President of MALLFORMS said, “Even if a mall does not charge the tenant when a barricade is constructed, they will literally save thousands of dollars the first year when using the MALLFORMS barricade system.”

MALLFORMS has developed an analysis tool for shopping center developers and individual malls to determine revenue generating potential and savings potential as it relates to mall barricades. MALLFORMS is also offering showcase / display opportunities and Web services to make it easier for malls to generate advertising revenue from third parties within the shopping center.
