Job Interviews for Sissies

If riveting and memorable job interviews are important, then this free web site can help a lot. It's a simple process that was put together to help job seekers everywhere. The process can also be used to build confidence for social situations of all types.

(PRWEB) October 12, 2004 -- Randy Schroeder had to face a job interview; so he was scared to death. He was 56 and out of work from 2 dot com failures in a row. How could he beat-out people half his age and often with better education? He felt totally unprepared: so he hired Barbara OHay, a career counselor, who helped him craft three stories that got him two job offers with two interviews for each one. It worked! With her permission, Randy developed the process into a FREE web site to help others improve the odds as he did. (www.JobInterviewsForSissies.com)

As we know, the resume is merely the door opener. Whats needed after that is a way of tying-together the resume and the interview; so it flows well. In addition, we must be totally prepared; so were confident, relaxed and able to handle any curve ball thrown our way.

The solution is a simple system used to craft a back-story for each job on your resume. The process is simple and adds life and sparkle to the interview while pulling together the resume more fully and completely.

Each story uses the same system -- PAR:
P - Problem you saw.
A - Action you took, to solve that problem.
R - Results you got ... quantified.
The stories are short, to the point and creatively crafted and rehearsed, but not memorized; so they are related newly each time.

Which story below is more powerful?

Story A:
I started the sales department at xyz and was a great sales manager. I was also fun to work with. I pulled together a team and we doubled the income of the company in 3 months.

Story B:
(Problem) Our company had a problem! Being new, we didnt have much cash flow; so we couldnt afford experienced salespeople.
(Action) As the sales manager, I hired 3 inexperienced salespeople, gave them minimal training; then made a game of making appointments. To take their fear away, I said Id go with them on every appointment they made. To make it fun, I secretly put music files on their computers -- circus music and the 1812 Overture. When they made an appointment, they played the circus music. For a closed deal, they played the 1812 Overture. It worked.
(Results ... Quantified) They booked 53 appointments in 2 weeks, and together, we doubled the revenue of the company in less than 3 months. And, everyone had fun in the process.

JobInterviewsForSissies.com will help crate the stories needed to make any job interview sizzle and be remembered. Randys goal is to help people like him. Good people who need a helping hand in the interview process.
