Hmmm so whatÂs it all about? Ken Abner- Vice President of International Sales and Marketing describes it like this. ÂHororfind.com and the Horrorfind Weekend have rejuvenated the Horror industry. Thousands of fans flock to the event in Maryland each August to meet their favorite horror stars, authors, vendors and watch some of the greatest Horror films. Usually running Friday night starting at 5pm and running through the weekend until 5pm on Sunday, theirs so much to do and see, itÂs sometimes difficult to decide where to start. There are horror authors doing personal readings and book signings, horror movie stars to get your photo with or sign your favorite memorabilia, many vendors with everything from posters, to figurines, hard to find videos and dvdÂs, music, collectables, unique art, and of course spooky props. Movies run from 6pm to 12am or later on Friday evening in the inside movie room, Saturday from 10am to 12am or later with two special outdoor showings on the expansive lawn, and then 10am Sunday morning to 4pm Sunday afternoon. Backed by special contributor and sponsors Anchor Bay Entertainment and Lions Gate Films and their huge selection of Horror movies, thereÂs plenty for everyone. With many of the films there is commentary by one or more of the stars from the movie. If that was not enough, there is one of the largest costume contests in the country with prizes like a big screen TV, with DVD and Video players, cash, and collectables.
What kinds of people go to these things, you ask? Mike Roden- President explains it best. ÂAlthough Horror movies and stars can generally be rated from PG to R, their something at the show for the whole family We have done our best to promote a show that individuals and families of all ages can appreciateÂ
So what are you planning for Arizona? What makes it different? ÂAfter hundreds of emails and calls from the west coast, we wanted our first show out west to be very unique. What better weekend than Halloween to throw a Horror Festival and Halloween Party? When was the last time you got to party with the worlds elite Horror stars? Party? ÂWe have always provided loads of activities at our show, but this gives us the opportunity to have a huge costume ball in addition to the customary costume contest we do each year. ÂFurthermore, we have added trick or treat stations throughout the resort, with everything from candy to movie posters to special give-aways for the little ones, as well as us older little ones We have added a special late night reading of a special classic that will be read by Howard Sherman you know him as Bub from Day of the Dead. This is HowardÂs first ever Horror convention showing and a special treat for those Day of the Dead fans.
