Pulse on America" To Feature Lotte Co., Ltd.

Lotte Co. offers products from candy to chewing gums, as well as retail stores and hotels, while focusing on quality and originality.

Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 15, 2004 -- New Line Media Solutions is pleased to announce the selection of Lotte Co., Ltd., which will be featured in a special half-hour format of its highly acclaimed television series, Pulse on America.

The show will feature the history of the company, and a profile of founder Takeo Shigemitsu. There will be a focus on all the elements of the corporation, including its business sectors that produce candy, biscuits, ice cream and chewing gums, as well as retail stores, an entertainment sector, including theme parks in Seoul, hotels, golf resorts and two professional baseball teams. There are also sugarless products to accommodate health needs. The Lotte company has been a strong presence in the Far East, especially in Japan and Korea, since its start in 1948 and is now the largest confections and consumer goods company in Japan, occupying more than 60% of the chewing gum market share in both Japan and Korea with its mighty Good for Your Teeth" Xylitol sugar-free chewing gum.

In June of 1948, Lotte started producing chewing gum products. In the following years, the company expanded to include Green gum and Cool Mint gum, using the logo it is known for, a South Pole penguin. The gum was produced using natural chicle, more expensive than the more commonly used sythetic vinyl acetate gum bases. In 1964, Lotte introduced Ghana milk chocolate as well. In April 1993 Blueberry sugarless gum was introduced, helping to start the popularity of low-calorie gums. Three years later, they began producing Chocolate Zero, a sugarless milk chocolate.

In 1967, Lotte Confectionery Co., Ltd., was established in Korea. The Lotte Hotel in Seoul was opened in March of 1979, the largest hotel in Korea. Ten years later they opened a successful shopping center in Seoul. During the 1970s, there was rapid expansion and development in Korea, in both food industries and service and tourism businesses. By the 1980s, Lotte ranked as one of the top ten Korean conglomerates. Opened in July 12, 1989, Lotte World started the full-fledged theme park era in Korea and is regarded as a world-class theme park similar to Disneyland. About eight million visitors come to Lotte World each year.

Lottes corporate leadership has focused on the importance of integrity, quality, originality, customer-oriented service, and passion. Since the very beginning, Lotte was keenly aware of what corporate responsibility means: They offer a never-ending search for perfection, a policy of welcoming guests with a smile, and policies that benefit society. Lottes founding philosophy was that a corporation should contribute to amplifying a nations welfare, and that became a legendary motto kept prominent by the companys employees.

Lotte has divisions for production, commercial sales, real estate and life insurance, advertising, and more. The firm also was the number one sales producer of gum products in Indonesia, and sells in China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand as well. Thai Lotte produces hard candy as well as gum at a Bangkok factory. In addition to the Far East facilities, there is a factory in the U.S. (Michigan), which has just started marketing Xylitol gum in the U.S. market, following its success in Japan, Korea and China.
