RMS Communications Group Brings Unique Used Cell Phone Purchase Program to California

The Florida-based company buys old cell phones, re-cycles them and then re-markets them, saving them from the landfill

Ocala FL (PRWEB) October 15, 2004 -- RMS Communications Group Inc., a successful recycler and re-marketer of used cell phones, announced today that it is bringing its unique program to California, effective immediately.

RMS pays cash for used cell phones that would otherwise lay idle or end up in landfills. Independent contractors can start profitable businesses in their hometowns, collecting cell phones and then selling them to RMS. Or, people can simply contact RMS Communications via one of its several web sites and sell their old cell phones directly.

In addition, many non-profit organizations raise significant funds by collecting old cell phones in their home towns and then selling them to RMS.
RMS Communications operates three web sites where people can go to learn about how to trade their old cell phones for c ash -- www.cellforcash.com (for consumers), www.wirelessfundraiser.com (for non-profit groups), and www.tradeinwireless.com (for wireless dealers).

The companys move into California comes at a good time, as the state has just passed legislation that requires cell phone companies to have take-back and recycling programs in place by 2006.

Our company is looking forward to working with Californians as they comply with this new law and find responsible ways of getting rid of their old cell phones," said James Mosieur, RMS Communications chief executive officer. We can help them be environmentally responsible while they trade their old phones for cash, or even set up profitable small businesses that partner with us."

Typically, RMS will pay between $1 and $70 for each useable phone -- more than its competitors. It carefully recycles and disposes of phones that are unusable. Usable phones will be remarketed by RMS to international markets. Other phones may be donated by RMS to domestic violence shelters, senior centers or other worthwhile organizations.
Selling old cell phones to us keeps them out of landfills, where they can cause environmental damage," Mosieur said.
