Anne Sweeney Holliday's New Novel is Now Available

Anne Sweeney Holliday's latest novel, Actual Malice, is now availabe for pre-order.

(PRWEB) October 15, 2004 -- Anne Sweeney Holliday's latest novel, "Actual Malice," is now available from the publisher and several online bookstores.

"Actual Malice," which will be officially released Nov. 29, is the sequel to Holliday's first novel, "Contempt of Court."

The book continues the story of crime-fighting team Gina Hamilton, a newspaper reporter, and Joe Manzarelli, an attorney. In "Actual Malice" they're trying to find out who is killing waitresses at a restaurant in Brafferd, Pennsylvania.

Gina, who used to work at the restaurant, gets personally involved after she's assigned to cover the story for the newspaper. Against Joe's advice, she devices a plan to catch the killer. However, the plan ultimately puts her life in jeopardy.

"For all the people who said they wanted more after 'Contempt of Court,' here it is," Holliday said.

"I'm looking forward to getting feedback from people," she said, adding that she was happily surprised to receive fan mail following the release of "Contempt of Court."

"I hope people like 'Actual Malice' as much as they liked 'Contempt of Court," Holliday said. "I also hope they enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it."

She said while she wrote "Contempt of Court" all by herself, she did have some help with "Actual Malice."

Her longtime friend Steve Cummins helped with proofreading and editing. He also offered suggestions for the story.

"He helped make the book better than even I thought it could be," she said.

Another person also helped with character development.

"I know how a newspaper reporter thinks," Holliday said, "but I don't know how a lawyer thinks. So I asked a local attorney to help me with that."

Bradford, Pa., lawyer Joe Marasco offered advice and even suggested a few plot twists, Holliday said.

"Joe was great," she said. "He was very patient with me, and very helpful."

She was quick to point out, however, that although Marasco helped her with "Actual Malice," the lawyer in the book is not based on him. She added that Gina is not based on her although the character is "pretty close to the person I would like to be."

Holliday, a former general assignment reporter for The Bradford Era, currently works part-time for the newspaper while concentrating on her fiction-writing career full-time.

She is currently working on the third book in the Joe and Gina series, "Reasonable Doubt."

A graduate of St. Bonaventure University, Holliday is also involved in Bradford Little Theatre and recently worked on the musical comedy "Nunsense."

"Actual Malice" is currently available at http://amazon.com, http://barnesandnoble.com and http://publishamerica.com.
