Hogan Assessment Systems Endows Fellowship, First Recipient A Bowling Green State University Graduate Student

Ian Little Receives Applied Measurement Fellowship From Tulsa-Based I/O Psychology Firm

TULSA, OK (PRWEB) October 15, 2004 -- Hogan Assessment Systems (HAS), the leader in comprehensive assessments for employee selection and development, today announced it has endowed a new research fellowship. The first HAS Applied Measurement Fellowship recipient is Ian Little of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Little was selected from a nationwide group of nominees submitted for consideration by industrial/organizational psychology faculty at leading universities from across the country.

Little, a Ph.D. graduate student in industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology, is working with advisor Dr. Michael Zickar at Bowling Green State University and will assist HAS in the development of a computer adaptive cognitive assessment tool, the Critical Reasoning Inventory for Business. Little will conduct applied research in support of the development of this new tool while working toward his Ph.D.

Hogan Assessment Systems is pleased to announce that our first-ever fellowship has been awarded to Ian, an outstanding graduate student who we feel will play a major role in the critical research so fundamental to our approach in developing employee selection and development assessments," said Dr. Robert Hogan, president and founder of Hogan Assessment Systems.

Little hails from South Bend, IN, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, with a minor in philosophy, from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. Last year, Little published his first refereed publication in Personality and Individual Differences. Littles professional experience includes serving as a consultant to Procter & Gamble Companys research team to assess the measurement equivalence of paper-and-pencil vs. computer versions of a plant skills test. He also served as a consultant for The Community Partnership, Toledo, Ohio, where he was a member of a research team evaluating the effectiveness of an organization-to-organization mentoring program.

Little is a member of Psi Chi, the National Psychology Honor Society; Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Honor Society in Leadership; Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society; and is a member of both the American Psychological Society and the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Hogan Assessment Systems created the new Applied Measurement Fellowship this summer and plans to award it to a top industrial/organizational psychology doctoral student each year. Though this is HAS first fellowship, the firm sponsors several full-time paid internships to I/O psychology students each year and supports I/O psychology student and faculty research all over the world.
