Many states have laws regulating credit counseling agencies and require that they be licensed. Through the AADMO web page, consumers can learn what agencies are licensed and where to find those agencies.

The AADMO web page (www.AADMO.org) identifies only those agencies (without regard to affiliation) that are approved by the applicable state. Other web sites guide consumers to selected agencies but not all approved agencies. The AADMO web page is the only page in the industry to identify all licensed or authorized credit counseling agencies --- regardless of whether or not they are a member of AADMO.

Consumers can get help from legitimate and approved credit counselors. To find an authorized credit counseling agency, visit www.AADMO.org and click on the "Find a Credit Counselor" button.
