Festival Will Attempt To ÂSmash The World Record For Most Lit Jack-O-Lanterns In One Place
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 16, 2004 - Where can you find tens of thousands of jack-o-lanterns, live bands, a pie eating contest, a costume parade, face painting, a live magic show and a rock climbing wall  all in one place? Plus the chance to Âsmash the Guinness World Record entry for the most lit jack-o-lanterns at one time? On the Boston Common, October 23, 2004 as Life is good holds the second annual Pumpkin Festival in partnership with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department.
Life is good, a lifestyle and apparel company dedicated to spreading the philosophy of Âdo what you like, like what you do will host the 2004 Life is good Pumpkin Festival to benefit Camp Sunshine, a national retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The event will run from 11:00 a.m.  9:00 p.m.
ÂThe Life is good Pumpkin Festival is a chance to give something back, to share the philosophy of our company  an optimistic outlook on life, said Bert Jacobs, co-founder of Life is good. ÂCamp Sunshine has an amazing track record instilling that philosophy in children with life-threatening illnesses. They have truly made a difference and we are proud to support them.Â
Jam-packed with activities suitable for all ages, the event will feature rock-climbing walls, a pie eating contest, pumpkin carving contests, live magic shows, virtual pumpkin design, cookie decorating, a hay maze, face painting, a massage tent and duck tours. The festival will also feature live music and other entertainment throughout the entire day.
Children and those young at heart are invited to dress in their favorite Halloween costume and march in the costume parade. The parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. from the Visitor Information Center and will wind around the Common, finishing up at the main stage.

The 2004 Life is good Pumpkin Festival is free of charge. All attendees are encouraged to bring a carved pumpkin and a votive candle or a pumpkin to carve at the Common. An estimated 30,000 lit jack-o-lanterns will be needed to help Life is good and Camp Sunshine smash the current world record of 28,952 held by the town of Keene, New Hampshire.
