The Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) today announced a $25-thousand grant to fund research sponsored by the American Foundation for Urologic Disease (AFUD). Manager of Corporate Development Jodi Miller welcomed the gift as, ÂWonderful news! AFUDÂs goal is the Prevention and cure of urologic disease through the expansion of research, education and patient advocacy.
ÂWe are pleased to make the second in a continuing series of contributions to AFUD aimed at encouraging interest in renal cancer research, said Bill Bro, KCA Chief Executive Officer. ÂOur medical advisory board has endorsed the direction of funds to AFUD, because theyÂre leading proponents of urologic disease research, he added. Last year, Mr. Bro was appointed to AFUDÂs Kidney Advisory Council, and the KCA will collaborate with the Council on the publication of a new booklet about renal cancer, for which the KCA has made an additional grant of $8-thousand.
