Tom MacVaugh is widely regarded throughout the healthcare industry as one of the leading experts in all aspects of non-labor expense management. During the past twenty five years, he has held direct management and executive leadership positions in nationally recognized healthcare provider organizations, associations and alliances, group purchasing and shared service entities, as well as consulting and management firms.
As a Managing Principal, Supply Chain Performance Improvement - Contract Management Services for Premier Purchasing Partners, LP; Tom directed both the sales and operations aspects of the organizations supply chain and materials management outsourcing activities. Premier is the second largest group purchasing and shared services organization in the US. Prior to joining Premier, he held similar positions with Sodexho/Marriott and as a Vice President with McFaul and Lyons, Inc. (MLI). Tom is also recognized as one of the industrys leading consultants for group purchasing operations. During his employment at MLI, he assisted Bill McFaul, Chairman of the SIH, with the development of numerous strategic plans and assessments for the industrys leading group purchasing organizations.

Tom is a recipient of the Stan Costello Award from the Group Purchasing Group; that organizations most prestigious award for accomplishments by professionals in the group purchasing industry. In addition, he was a Founding Board Member of the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA). Tom has his BS in Business and Economics from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and his MS in Health Services Administration from St. Josephs University in Philadelphia, PA. He is a member of HFMA, ACHE, AHRMM, and ASHGP. Tom is also a frequent speaker at both regional and national events, and contributing author to professional healthcare journals on a variety of healthcare management and cost control topics.
