PathConnect is calling upon amateur and student filmmakers in the world's first documentary competition in which the members of a social network will have the ability to vote on the documentaries final footage.

The documentary PathConnecting will be released in the summer of 2005 and will be a compilation of various success stories about the path taken by successful people and the mentors they connected with on their road to success.

PathConnect will publish applicable video entries to its social network members. The submissions with the highest number of unique votes will win a $500 dollar cash prize and receive an associate producer credit on the film.

“We are seeking real success stories (not just monetary) with great adversity and obstacles overcome. The documentary will have an emphasis on young successful people; however, we will consider all applicable footage,” stated Ryan J. Blair the CEO of PathConnect.

“This is a great chance for amateur filmmakers to have their art reviewed and voted on by thousands of people through the social community of PathConnect,” stated Marisa Gunzenhauser the executive producer of PathConnecting.

Portions of the final documentary will air on television to 1.8M viewers in Los Angeles and will be submitted to film festivals world wide.

The deadline for submissions is December 31st, 2004. PathConnect social community voting will begin on January 10th, 2005 and final documentary is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2005.
