Public Relations Society of America LA Chapter PRisms Awards Taps MAYO Communications For Best Media Placement And Corporate Communications - MAYO Staff up for Several Awards Among Stiff Competition and 250+ Entries

MAYO Communications wins two-years-in-a-row for its niche services of media placement at the upcoming PRisms Awards Nov. 9th Gala of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), LA Chapter.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2004 -- MAYO Communications has been nominated for several awards to be handed out Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-LA) Los Angeles Chapter Annual Awards Gala at the Luxe Hotel Bel-Air Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, 90049.

MAYO has been nominated for "Best Education Campaign" for its national and regional media management of the release of the study results of Wal-mart Superstores -- An Economic Impact," a controversial LAEDC study that revealed the pros and cons of 40 superstores locating in Southern California.
   
This is the second year-in-a-row MAYO has been spotlighted for media placement, too. Just weeks before the anniversary of 9-11 last year, MAYO launched a media campaign for Terror On The Tracks -- Homeland Security," the results of the nations first Homeland Security study with threats to the rail system.

The study was conducted by Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and Rand Corporation. The report was sanction by Orange North-American Trade Rail Access Corridor Authority, Brea, CA. OnTrac and Counterterrorism Expert Elsa Lee contributed to the report. MAYO earned extensive national and international media coverage for all three above clients.

Shortly after the Spain deadly bombings, the media campaign grabbed a second wind new national media and launched another campaign that started in Washington DC, where Congress took a second look at it and used it as a guide for legislation.

MAYO has also been notified that it is up for an award for Best Corporate Communications," for its Business Beat News Tip Sheet. The online one-of-kind communication also has been nominated for the Best Creative Other- Nonprofit," award.

The news tip sheet, which goes to business editors, writers and assignment editors in California has grown from 50 to 866 subscribers in 12 months. It comes in several formats and includes headlines and images of news tips to the media they might have missed or want to cover.
