Computer Club Turns to Cars to Raise Funds: Sell Your Car, Help the Children of Military Families, and Have Fun Too

Students from Sinclair Community College are sponsoring a car show and swap meet to help the children of military families living in southwestern Ohio. Anyone can bring a car to sell, car parts, or car related items. Proceeds benefit the children of military service members.

VANDALIA, OH (PRWEB) October 17, 2004 -- Students in a computer club at Sinclair Community College are leaving their games behind to host a unique event for the benefit of the children of southwestern Ohio reserve units.

The GXNPS2 Gamers Club is hosting the First Annual Autumn Auto Swap Meet and Parts Accessories Show on Oct. 22, 23, and 24 at the Dayton Expo Center. The public is invited to display cars, trucks, motorcycles, and auto parts and accessories they would like to sell or trade.

This will be the biggest buyers lot in Ohio for those three days," said Leon Meyer, GXNPS2 Gamers Club member. It will be an ideal place to sell, and great opportunity for buyers to shop many vehicles in one location.

This will be the first event of this type for the club, but not the last. Plans are already in place for a similar event to raise money for children of service members each year.

We plan to use the proceeds to buy toys and bicycles for the kids. We want to help them because their parents are putting their lives on the line for us, and we know that financially it is tough for military family, especially around the holidays that are coming up," explained Meyer.

Those who wish to register to sell at the auto swap meet should call 937-268-6218 as soon as possible to reserve space. Cars can be displayed for just $65 for the three day event and vendors can reserve a 15 ft. x 15 ft. booth space for only $250. Admission is $15 for a one day pass, or $35 for all three days.

A Ford F-250 will be given away as one of the many door prizes for the weekend.

The GXNPS2 Gamers Club is a group of students from Sinclair Community College who like to get together to play a variety of computer games. Their name is an acronym for Game Boy, X-Box, Nintendo, PlayStation 2.
