New York, (PRWEB) October 20, 2004 -- Grand Central Server, LLC (grandcentralserver.com) announced today that Robert E. Allen, Jr. has been named Vice-President of sales for its newly expanded sales division. Allen, a 1980 graduate of Cornell University, who spent most of his career in sales and management at IBM, will provide the leadership the New York based GCS needs to expand into the national marketplace for Linux-based, managed office servers.

He became national vice president for corporate accounts when Premiere Technologies purchased the worldwide Voice-Tel system in 1998. Before joining GCS, Allen was regional vice president of sales for Newark, NJ based Norvergence, Inc. He opened their San Francisco, CA office, quickly expanding that branch to sixth in sales among nearly 75 national markets.
Robert brings a wide range of sales and management talent to GCS," said GCS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Alexis Rosen. His background in both information technology and telephony, combined with the ability to quickly develop new markets, is critical to our strategy to become the market leader in managed office servers for small to medium sized businesses."
Allen will report directly to Rosen and assume his business duties immediately.
