Download Service Announces Digital Sales Enhancements

Share Article enhances its system to allow merchants to sell downloadable goods using the PayPal platform., a Digital Goods eCommerce application service provider, announces a major feature enhancement to their service that allows merchants to sell downloadable goods using the PayPal payment platform. Key enhancements to the system are the creation of an Application Programming Interface (API) system and eBay Digital Auction integration. These, along with several other improvements, add to the existing functionality of the system.

The new PayLoadz API system allows developers to access the PayLoadz system programmatically. This means users are able to accomplish tasks like creating, editing, and deleting products, as well as enabling downloads and checking the status of a transaction without having to go through the web interface. The system relies on web standards and XML making it fully cross-platform.

The PayLoadz system has also improved their Digital Auction system, which was the first to do approved digital auctions at eBay more than a year ago when they launched Madonna's "American Life" in the Warner Brother's eBay auctions. Additionally, the PayLoadz system has processed over 10,000 auctions for digital goods, which is many more than any other service provider. They also introduced their own eBay Store, offering several of their merchant's products in one place. The new payment system works through PayPal to a PayLoadz account, which interacts with the eBay API, PayPal Instant Payment Notification system, and the PayPal API to make payment instantly to the product owner. Though this is one of the most technically complex eBay/PayPal integrations available it remains invisible to both the merchant and customer.

Other feature enhancements include the ability for merchants to upload product listings in bulk, deliver registration keys for goods that require registration, support for third party vendors that utilize the PayPal system, revision to eStore and features intended to increase merchant's sales through the system.

Shannon Sofield, Lead Developer at PayLoadz, feels the new functionality of the system brings it much closer to becoming a complete platform. "The features we have rolled out in this release complete the basic framework of our platform." He went on to explain that development will continue. "We will continue to refine the existing features, but our future releases will focus on providing merchants with the tools needed to promote their products. The more downloads they sell, the better for both of us."
