Gone With the Wind Diamond Anniversary Celebration Set in Clayton County - Actress Ann Rutherford (Carreen OHara) Among Honored Guests

The Clayton County Convention and Visitors Bureau with the help of guest of honor, actress Ann Rutherford (Carreen OHara), will celebrate the films anniversary during the Gone With the Wind Diamond Jubilee Celebration Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14 in Jonesboro.

Jonesboro (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -- Sixty-five years ago MGM Studios immortalized Clayton County in the big screen adaptation of Margaret Mitchells Gone With the Wind. The Clayton County Convention and Visitors Bureau with the help of guest of honor, actress Ann Rutherford (Carreen OHara), will celebrate the films anniversary during the Gone With the Wind Diamond Jubilee Celebration Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14 in Jonesboro.

The event begins on Friday at 10 am with a meet-and-greet and autograph session with Rutherford at the Road to Tara Museum located inside the Old Train Depot in Jonesboro. After meeting Rutherford, visitors can tour the museum and see new exhibit items, including an original watercolor of a dress worn by Careen OHara and a never before displayed settee from the Twelve Oaks set courtesy of Herb Bridges, owner of the worlds largest Gone With The Wind collection.

On Saturday at 8:30 am, participants will take the VIP bus tour of must see Atlanta Gone With The Wind attractions and landmarks, visit the Margaret Mitchell House, www.gwtw.org, and get an exclusive souvenir for participating in the tour.

The celebration climaxes on Sunday with a Gone With the Wind collectors swap meet and brunch with Rutherford at the Pristine Chapel Lakeside Ballroom, www.pristinechapel.com. Rutherford will sign autographs and share her memories as a Gone With the Wind cast member.

Participants are urged to register early because space is limited. The weekend cost for the event is $199 per person.
