Louder than Words
Trade Association Leads By Example
Glastonbury, CT (PRWEB) October 20, 2004 -- Members of the Botanical Elements Trade Association (BETA) have always subscribed to the belief that actions speak louder than words -- and that these actions can inspire others to follow in their earth-friendly example. In illustration of this concept, select Members have joined together to promote their products and their environmentally-conscious philosophy.
Botanical Elements was founded by Susan Sawhill Apito in April of 2002, in order to promote and market businesses which produce products created using botanical elements -- such as herbs, dried flowers, and pure essential oils.
"Our Members recognize the implications to our bodies, home and planet when they are exposed to chemicals and products that pollute our air and water, explained Apito. BETA is comprised of companies that manufacture or sell products such as "true" aromatherapy, natural candles, herbal body care, handmade soap, and products using botanical ingredients. Many Members also offer supplies, raw materials, or services related to the natural products industry," she added.
In addition to their market segment, the members share a common goal -- to work together to educate consumers as to their alternatives to using synthetic ingredients -- such as using pure essential oils instead of synthetic fragrance oils. As a group, Botanical Elements promotes the ecological and health benefits of using non-synthetic ingredients. Their national ads can be seen in a variety of publications, including The Herb Quarterly.
BETAs current project, aptly titled Answering The Call", has partnered them with Collective Good -- a company that generates funds for charities through cell phone recycling. Mobile phones contain hazardous materials such as mercury, cadmium, nickel and gallium arsenide, and can contaminate ground water if discarded in landfills. Donated phones are kept out of landfills, are either refurbished, or scrapped for parts. All portable phones, pagers, and PDAs will be accepted.
BETAs efforts will support The Sierra Club, America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. BETA member businesses have set a goal to collect 1000 devices by the end of the year. All donations are tax deductible.
Botanical Elements offers two levels of Business Membership, as well as a Consumer/Hobbyist level membership.
