Winter Programs Bring Sports and English Together; FLS International Hosts Winter Sports Lovers

New programs for international students provide sports and activities along with English training. They provide new ways for students to get insight into American life.

(PRWEB) October 22, 2004 -- Seeing snow up-close for the first time, learning how to snowboard like a master, touring the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas and mastering the use of English verbs arent activities that usually go together. But a new program for international students aims to bring all of these elements into one unforgettable two-week experience.

The program is the English and Ski Package designed by FLS International. It offers skiing at the world-class Brian Head resort in Utah, and a week of study and sightseeing in flashy Las Vegas, with classes at the College of Southern Nevada. Our program allows students to make friends with people from diverse backgrounds and experience a typical American way of life," says Alex Mortensen, FLS Program Manager.

The English and Ski Package is part of a new trend of language programs that combine English with athletic, cultural and professional activities. Students love the variety of the programs and the chance to gain authentic experiences in a new country.

Our ESL and activity programs in the summer have been our most popular programs with our highest level of student satisfaction, so were very happy to offer a similar concept in the winter," said FLS Vice-President Luke Frerichs.

The Nevada and Utah program gives students two very different looks at America. For the first week, students enjoy sunny Las Vegas and its busy urban environment. In the second week, students take in the relaxing, laid-back town of Brian Head, set in the breathtaking mountains of Utah.

Brian Head is known for world-class powder and top-notch instruction," says Mortensen. Its the highest resort town in the U.S. and was honored as a 'Top Family Getaway by Family Travel Forum. Frerichs says the resort has something for everyone. It offers an experience for people at all skill levels. They have very challenging runs, long runs, and a mountain set aside for snowboards. No matter what you want to do, theres something thats going to engage you."

Students who visited Brian Head in the past had great experiences. They were very impressed with the quality of the ski runs and the beautiful scenery," said Frerichs, who has personally guided students on tours to the resort.
