Canadian Site Invites World to Vote for U.S. President

Launched today, www.ifyoucouldvote.com bills itself as the place where the world comes to be heard." Its first topic of business? The upcoming Presidential election.

Halifax, Nova Scotia (PRWEB) October 20, 2004 -- Launched today, www.ifyoucouldvote.com bills itself as the place where the world comes to be heard". Its first topic of business? The upcoming Presidential election.

Anyone with an internet connection anywhere in the world can log onto the site and express their opinion by voting for either of the two leading Presidential contenders: President George W. Bush and Senator John F. Kerry. The voters are recorded by nationality -- a feature allowing for the calculation of sentiment by country.

This is a very pro-American statement," explains Bernardine Wood, the site owner. The United States is a world superpower whose economic, military and cultural activities affect the entire planet in direct and meaningful ways. We respect the American people and believe that they would want to know what the rest of the world is thinking."

The site is the creation of a few politically-concerned citizens in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The U.S. Presidential election takes place November 2, 2004.
