Teddy Bears Teach Children About Heroes and History
Even without special training, parents can get their children off to a good start for learning history. With a strong foundation, children will have the tools for later successful learning.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2004 -- Children have always loved teddy bears, and today they are getting more than the usual hugs and smiles from the soft and cuddly stuffed animals. The IMA Hero Bears are introducing children to some of the world's greatest achievers who confronted difficulties with a positive and persistent attitude.
Children learn caring and compassion from Florence Nightingale, persistence and steadfastness from Thomas Edison, and creativity from William Shakespeare. Altogether there are 12 IMA Hero Teddy Bears to inspire children.
"We know our mission of Making History Fun has succeeded when we listen to our customers," said Kathy Malowney, Owner of StarRise Creations which created the IMA Hero Teddy Bear. One child said his favorite IMA Hero Bear is William Shakespeare, "...because he was a good writer and a good reader." A parent said, "My son salutes the Robert E. Lee IMA Hero Bear before going to bed each night." A preschool teacher said, "Now all of the children in the class know about Galileo and the moons around Jupiter."
Children also begin talking about what really makes a hero. Is a hero someone who is perfect and never makes a mistake? Does a person have to do an extraordinary act to be a hero? Can they be a hero? One child said, "My brother is my hero because he taught me how to ride my bike."
The IMA Hero Collection website has over 1,000 pages of FREE, fun, and educational information for people of all ages.
Parents are finding a new and easy way to get their children to "Have Fun Learning" with the IMA Hero Teddy Bears. Children love teddy bears and can now be inspired by famous people in history through their creative play with the Hero Bears. Parents are released from the burden to know everything about history and are enjoying this opportunity to participate with their children and build a strong foundation for learning and enjoying history.
StarRise Creations, the company behind the IMA Hero Collection, began in March, 1999. The IMA Hero Teddy Bear Collection and Web Site were introduced to the public in December, 1999.
Awards:
