Computas and act! systems Provide Metis Enterprise Architecture

Metis and act! take EA, portfolio management to European financial services companies

Niemann said. Metis will play a key role in our ability to implement customer projects in EA modeling, application portfolio planning, and consolidation of applications and infrastructure.

SEATTLE/OSLO (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -- Computas today announced it has signed a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with act! systems of Braunschweig, Germany, which will significantly extend both companies presence in the European marketplace for Enterprise Architecture (EA) solutions. Under the agreement, act! systems will utilize Computas Metis® Enterprise visual modeling toolset as a core component in act!s Toolbox for Enterprise Architecture Management (t-eam) architecture framework and methodology. T-eam provides the foundation of act!s consulting engagements for German, Austrian and Swiss companies, primarily in the financial services industry.

According to Klaus D. Niemann, Managing Director of act! systems, the t-eam methodology will leverage the complete Metis suite, including its client- and server-side tools and its out-of-the-box templates, or metamodels, for use in the rapid creation of EA models.

Of all the EA tools we evaluated, Metis provided the best match of concepts and capabilities with our proven t-eam methodology. Metis strong visual modeling capabilities and the adaptability of its metamodels were especially important factors in our decision," Niemann said. Metis will play a key role in our ability to implement customer projects in EA modeling, application portfolio planning, and consolidation of applications and infrastructure."

act! Systems decision to leverage Metis in their advanced t-eam methodology will enable their customers to take the next step in Enterprise Architecture modeling, which is to harness the power of a visual EA model to gain real business value," said Emilio G. Marisei, Computas Director of Marketing and Sales Channels. With their Metis-based EA in place, they have unprecedented transparency into their organization that enables them to create IT and business processes that reduce risk in decision-making."
