Discovery Channel picked Viewpoint Creative to develop a multi-phase promotional campaign for their Monday night primetime line-up. The net is staking claim to one of TVÂs best nights of programming with a fuel-injected line-up that features ÂAmerican ChopperÂ, ÂMonster Garage and ÂMonster HouseÂ. Now, with phase 1 on the air the Viewpoint Creative team is putting the finishing touches on phase 2.
Airing October 11th, phase 2 continues the bold new look and on-camera presence of series stars: the Teutuls, Jesse James and Steve Watson. But now the campaign zeroes in on stand-alone spots for individual series. In one, Mikey Teutul  the latest addition to the American Chopper family  puts his unique humor on display dancing to a newly recorded version of Ton LocÂs ÂWild ThingÂ. The new version of the song features lyrics like: ÂThey like to build the wild things. Says Viewpoint Creative Executive Producer, Dave Shilale, ÂItÂs exactly what DiscoveryÂs ÂEntertain Your Brain branding is all about.Â
The striking design established in early Âblock spots continues throughout the new campaign. Snapping black lines, suggesting the wires and tools that are the trademark of each series, shoot across a vivid white background and interact with series stars and their incredibly crafted machines.
