From What if...?" to New Online Art Festival"

What do two middle aged displaced women workers do? They attend college, graduate Phi Theta Kappa and create a new career! This while fulfilling a dream of owning their own business, as well as their love of art festivals and street fairs. With a unique marketing plan and the use of technology, Ladie Nins Collectibles: an online art festival was born.

(PRWEB) October 22, 2004 -- Kim Dube and Bonnie Taub first met in a financial business class. They both had returned to college through a program offered by Washington State for individuals who had been displaced from their jobs.

Very quickly these two middle-aged returning students found they could commiserate together. Then through many coffee and lunch breaks, the idea of partnering a business was born. They knew they could work together, but what to sell?

Through many discussions they had discovered a mutual love of Art Fairs and Street Festivals. They already had shared many entertaining stories of that great item" they had seen at one festival or another but could never find again.

These discussions caused them to identify the market niche they wanted to fill. They both graduated Phi Theta Kappa in June of 2004. So with degrees in hand, they set out to build a business around their mutual passion. They attended many festivals, from Seattle to Anacortes, from the small to large, to find the Northwest artists they wanted to include in their online street fair". (They still have the blisters to prove their foot travels.) They were on the lookout for unique ceramics and pottery, garden and yard art, glass, handbags, herbal and body products, holiday and special occasion items, jewelry, paper art, photography, porcelain, sculptures, wall art, wearable art, wood crafts and even yummy stuff.

Some artists were very happy to accommodate, while others were quite skeptical about letting another entity market and sell their products online.

The artists who did decide to join their endeavor are engaging, pleasant and very open and real. Kim and Bonnie find that promoting the work of these artists is such a breath of fresh air compared to the corporate worlds they were used to. Kim and Bonnie invite you to peruse the resulting website, http://www.ladieninscollectibles.com. They look forward to any feedback, and, of course, would love to help you find that great item" you may have missed.
